| ABOUT THE BAR.... The bar, bar back and liquor cabinet at Cool Beans Coffee Pub were hand made in Indonesia and imported in 2002. Believe it or not they are not restored antiques that came from the "I forgot" bar over in "whatyamacallit". This is the bar's first home. The bar back is 23 feet long and 9 feet tall. The bar is 26 feet long with an 8 foot return. The liquor cabinet is 4 1/2 feet wide and 8 1/2 feet tall. All three pieces are made from mahogany and finished with several coats of hand buffed red dyed lacquer. I do not know how much it weighs, but the top half of the bar back was about all that ten old fat guys could handle. (Don't tell them that I said that.) The mirrors are one way glass (if your were behind the bar you could see out). In the original plan the business office was located behind the bar. Yes, we know that there are cracks in the bar, for the love of Mike, I spend 12 hours per day in here, how could I fail to notice. The front of the bar is constructed of 1/4 inch thick panels of mahogany that shrunk and dried when the bar was moved from the humidity of Indonesia to the high plains desert here in Montana. It cracked. |
